Pooja Amy Shah, MD
Integrative Medicine Physician, Pooja Amy Shah MD
Dr. Shah’s extraordinary approach to healing is one that encourages a lifelong journey towards health and wellness. Her extensive training and expertise has effortlessly allowed her to blend modern Western medical science with the ancient healing traditions of the East to offer a personalized, achievable, and sustainable path to healing.
For Dr. Shah, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to healing. Every problem is as unique as the person experiencing it. She understands how conventional medicine tends to ignore the inextricable links between the mind, body and environment. Her competence combined with her dedication to continuously grow and refine her knowledge base makes her an unparalleled choice for guidance through your healing process. Dr. Shah’s mission is to see her patients feel better and flourish. She will listen to you intently and compassionately and promises to always keep an open, inquisitive mind.
Life is about thriving, not just surviving. Dr. Shah wants to help you build a path that provides you with the tools you need to nourish yourself, cultivate your resilience, sustain your wellness, and prevent future illness, even when life throws you curve balls. The goal is for you to feel great and require less and less assistance from her. She can help you navigate the current convoluted landscape of “alternative,” “holistic,” “functional,” and “integrative medicine,” often offering false or exaggerated health claims. Dr. Shah’s practice is not about selling you expensive herbs/products, extensive lab testing, or specific diet plans that merely paint a picture of wellness. Rather she will help you find the keys to unlock your body’s natural healing potential so that you get better and stay better. She has observed how a small investment in one’s health now can prevent chronic disease from occurring, potentially saving you from pain, suffering, and huge medical costs in the future.

This information will become much more apparent during the first intake session and as your healing plan unfolds.
Insurance: At the time of your visit, full payment is expected. Dr. Shah has chosen to offer her clinical services as an “out-of-network” provider so that she can spend maximum time working directly with you and is able to blend medical acupuncture and other integrative services into your visit without any barriers.
Dr. Shah will provide you with a “superbill” (coding information) and any other necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement directly from them. Most patients who have satisfied their deductible are reimbursed, or can apply the amount to their deductible. Many patients get as much as 80% of their visits reimbursed.
You may also use FSA/HSA credit cards for your visits. Labs and radiology studies ordered by Dr. Shah are most often covered by insurance as well. Dr. Shah’s office cannot file insurance paperwork on your behalf at this time.
